The RF Armed Forces defeated 16 main military airfields from which Ukrainian aviation carried out combat sorties, destroyed 39 arsenals, where up to 70% of all stocks of Ukrainian military equipment were stored.

Of the 2,416 tanks and other combat armored vehicles that were in service with the Ukrainian army as of February 24, 1,587 were destroyed.

Out of 152 military aircraft, 112 remained, out of 149 helicopters – 75, out of 36 Bayraktar TB2 drones, 35 were destroyed.

“Gli obiettivi principali della prima fase dell’operazione sono, in generale, stati raggiunti”. Lo ha affermato il comandante del direttorato per le operazioni dello stato maggiore russo, il generale Sergei Rudskoy, citato dall’agenzia di stampa Interfax, dopo un mese di combattimenti nella guerra tra Russia e Ucraina.

“Il potenziale di combattimento delle forze armate ucraine è stato considerevolmente ridotto. Questo rende possibile concentrarsi sugli sforzi cruciali per raggiungere l’obiettivo principale, vale a dire la liberazione del Donbass”, ha aggiunto.

“Unità delle milizie della Repubblica popolare di Luhansk hanno liberato il 93 per cento del territorio della regione. Ora si combatte nelle vicinanze di Severodonetsk e Lysychansk. Le milizie della Repubblica popolare di Donetsk hanno il controllo del 54 per cento del territorio. La liberazione della città di Mariupol prosegue”, ha aggiunto il generale sottolineando che “unità delle forze armate della Federazione russa, insieme alle milizie delle Repubbliche, stanno portando avanti una offensiva per liberare le zone abitate a ovest di Donetsk”.

Il generale, che per la prima volta ha citato l’obiettivo delle forze russe in Ucraina, ha voluto precisare che “non è (ancora, ndr) escluso” il completamente l’attacco delle città ucraine assediate dai russi, anche se “le nostre forze e i nostri equipaggiamenti si concentreranno sull’elemento importante, la completa liberazione del Donbass, a tempo debito, in seguito al raggiungimento di una serie di obiettivi da parte di unità specifiche”.

In un briefing, Rudskoy ha assicurato che “inizialmente non intendevamo attaccare le città, per evitare distruzione e minimizzare le perdite fra militari e civili”.

“Avevamo due opzioni. La prima era quella di limitare le azioni solo al territorio delle Repubbliche popolari di Luhansk e Donetsk, entro i confini amministrativi delle regioni. In questo caso però, gli ucraini avrebbero potuto continuamente rifornire le loro forze. Quindi, è stata scelta la seconda opzione, che contempla azioni sull’intero territorio dell’Ucraina, con interventi per la sua demilitarizzazione e denazificazione”.

“Il progredire dell’operazione ha confermato che questa decisione è stata quella giusta. E’ stata presa dallo stato maggiore in stretto rispetto del piano approvato”, ha precisato il generale, rivendicando la quasi completa distruzione delle forze aeree e di difesa aerea ucraine, e la totale distruzione della marina. “La demilitarizzazione dell’Ucraina è stata raggiunta sia con armi di precisione contro strutture e basi militari, aerodromi, posti di comando, arsenali e magazzini militari, e con i militari che hanno schiacciato i gruppi nemici all’opposizione”. “La Russia” ha concluso il militare, citando la proposta avanzata “da alcuni Paesi Nato”, risponderà immediatamente a qualsiasi tentativo di chiudere lo spazio aereo sull’Ucraina.

Riteniamo improbabile Putin si accontenti del Donbass. Di certo il suo obiettivo non è un pezzo di Ucraina, ma tenere l’Ucraina fuori dalla sfera di influenza americana. Questo può avvenire con una completa occupazione o con un governo amico come quello abbattuto dal golpe del 2014.
